HZZK Technology has an completely unique core design and operational features that are not replicated in any other kilns or zig-zag versions. Key design features and differences include:
Unique design features that make HZZK Technology the solution
Long zig-zag fire zone: Optimised combustion and energy extraction along kiln firing path
3
Fan-induced draught: Even heat/draw with lower fuel use and minimal exhaust gases
2
Pre-drying using residual heat, faster fire progression; less capital tied up in hack-lines (drying of green bricks)
1
Tight fire control: Even cure/shrinkage; consistent quality, high first-class yield and decreased waste
4
Ergonomic Design: Archless, roofed, ground-level. Lower build/maintenance cost; extends season and improves safety and working conditions
5
The HZZK offers almost complete fuel combustion.
The directional zig-zag controlled air turbulence, creates higher temperatures, which increases fuel combustion efficiency and decreases fuel consumption.
The fire moves through stationary bricks set in a zig-zag fashion creating critical air turbulence allowing for: even heat distribution; maximum heat generation and maximum energy extraction from the fuel source.
The firing process is accelerated by creating air flow and turbulence (draught) through the use of a fan.
Control valves and dampers, are used in conjunction with the fan, resulting in increased directional air turbulence and highly efficient fuel combustion with minimal emissions.
The Habla Zig-Zag Kiln (HZZK Technology) construction and operation is unique and differs from other zig-zag kilns in significant ways.
Heat from fired bricks, is reclaimed from behind the fire zone and moved forward ahead of the fire zone accelerating the drying of green bricks and facilitating faster fire progress. This is clean dry heat and eliminates scum.
The zig-zag partitioned walls are themselves made of green bricks, which when fired also become saleable product. Significantly less masonry is heated during the firing process and therefor increases the speed of the firing zone, meaning the kiln requires a smaller footprint for its output.
