In 2016, Peter Habla and his father Gilbert partnered with the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC) and their in-country delivery partner Swisscontact to re-instate HZZK Technology, originally invented by German engineer Alois Habla in 1927.

HZZK's first commercial kiln in South Africa achieved its goal of reducing CO₂ emissions and saving fuel, successfully re-proving its technology as a viable clean kiln alternative for today's emerging markets. As regulatory pressures increase to replace polluting kilns with more energy efficient solutions, HZZK is focused on expanding adoption of its cleaner technology across South Asia. With secured local partnerships, HZZK is ready to improve brick making practices  and boost kiln owners profits with the mission of reducing global climate emissions at scale.
